My wife Stephanie and I have three daughters all in Edina Public Schools. I have been with Cargill for 30 years and my wife worked at General Mills for 26 years before starting her own business.
I have developed a reputation as a people-first, results- oriented leader who focuses on making sure
decisions are informed by the best available information. I am a proven leader who fosters a collaborative environment where all voices are heard and all opinions are valued. I am experienced in Information Technology and business development. I am also a member of the Cargill Foundation board of directors and the executive sponsor for the Cargill Ebony Council.
Stephanie and I love this community and are active members. In 2019, Mayor Hovland recognized me with the Mayor's Individual Service Commendation award for my leadership work as Co-Chair of the Edina Race and Equity Task Force. I was also nominated for the 2018 Tom Oye Human Rights Award. I was recognized for my work as a board member for the Metropolitan Economic Development Association. I am currently a member of the national board for MANRRS, Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences. Stephanie serves on the Board of Edina Give and Go and is a member of the COVID-19 Relief Committee.
Our community work also extends beyond Edina. We were recently nominated as the 2019 Minnesota volunteers of the year for our work to support and raise funds for JDRF, the Junior Diabetes Research Fund Organization,
"The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit."
I have a BS in Computer Science from Tuskegee University and an MBA from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Business.
I am a musician and I enjoy family time, golfing and being a grill master! I have also found the time to start a voiceover business.
